About Us

When you take your pet to a veterinarian, you are entrusting the health of a family member to the doctors and staff. At Wicomico Veterinary Hospital, we understand the important role that pets play in our lives and we take pride in providing the highest quality medical care, in a friendly, family environment. All of our patients are treated as we treat our own pets; with compassion and gentle hands. Our clients are treated as friends! We listen to your concerns and work with you to achieve the best results for your pets. Our veterinarians and the staff are dedicated to providing the best care utilizing advances in technology to provide the patient and client a happy, loving, and long term relationship.

The most important asset to our hospital is the dedication, expertise, and training that our staff has accomplished. We value the role that our healthcare team contributes to the well being of your pet.

Kristina Elkins
Kris started with Wicomico Veterinary Hospital in 2009 as a receptionist, and since then has enjoyed filling other roles within the practice as well. While her duties now include administrative support, her favorite part of her job is still at the front desk, greeting our two and four-legged friends! Kris is an avid "foodieā€¯ and can most often be found in her kitchen or garden.

Heather McCarthy B.S.
Heather originally joined our practice in 2012, but took a short hiatus after graduating from Salisbury University in 2015 and again in 2016 to explore her interests in wildlife as the Lead Seasonal Naturalist with Tuckahoe State Park. Although she learned a lot during those adventures, she always missed working with our clients so much that she had to come back! With seven years of on-the-job experience, Heather is here to stay and is currently taking classes to achieve her goal of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. On her days off Heather enjoys hiking and kayaking with her boyfriend Joe and also spending time with her hairless cat, Tofu.

Leeann Watkins
Leeann is a Registered Veterinary Technician. She earned her associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Delaware Technical College and passed the Veterinary Technician National Examination in 2013. She is now licensed in the states of Delaware and Maryland. After graduation she worked as a technician in Delaware for three years prior to joining our practice in 2016. On the weekends, Leeann loves to spend time reading science fiction novels and listening to country music!

Lillie Phillips
Lillie is currently a Junior at Parkside Highschool. She joined our practice in 2017 as a kennel assistant. After high school she plans on working toward becoming a veterinarian. In her spare time, she can be found cooking or listening to music.
