Dr. Heather Brooks-Owens DVM
Dr. Brooks graduated from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She received her Bachelors of Science Degree from Salisbury University in 1993. Dr. Brooks has taken advanced courses in dentistry and laser surgery techniques. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her two dogs, Holly & Fin, and her cats, Puss and Chavez. She also enjoys going to the beach and riding her horse, Wyatt.
Kristina Elkins
Kris is currently our head receptionist. She is training to become a technician assistant. Although new to the industry, her passion for your pets is easily recognized. When she's not hiking local trails with her two lively Labradors, Bo and Bailey, she and her husband like to spend time in Assateague. Kris also enjoys cooking, and stocks her kitchen with produce from her organic garden.
Cassandra Gilday, BS
Cassandra came to us from Connecticut where she was working and interning within the veterinary community for 4 years. Cassandra graduated from Marist College with a Bachelors Degree in Science, majoring in biomedical sciences. She is currently our head veterinary technician working toward becoming a R.V.T. (registered veterinary technician). Cassandra enjoys spending time with her fiance and their dog Riley. Cassandra also enjoys riding her horses when visiting her home town in Connecticut.
Heather Hackett
Heather joined our hospital in September 2012 after working on the Western Shore as a veterinary technician for 3 years. Heather has a passion for both animals and children, and is currently attending Salisbury University working toward her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. When she is not at school, work, or at one of her various volunteer activities, she can be found spending time with her hairless Sphynx, Tofu, her teeny-tiny Chihuahua, Harvey, and her three-legged mutt, Bertram.
